How Daily Assisted Stretching Helps You Maintain Independence As You Age
Recently, I had a stretching student tell me the story of her knee surgery that she had about 10 years ago.
She suffered from knee pain, so she went to the doctor who told her that she had a torn meniscus and would need to have surgery to repair it.
She took the doctor’s orders and scheduled a date for surgery.
A few weeks passed before her surgery date and she noticed that her knee pain had already subsided. She thought she may not need surgery after all, but she went ahead with her doctor’s recommendation anyways.
Her knee has never been the same since. She regrets not speaking up and seeking an alternative before having the surgery.
But now my client has invested in a regular Assisted Stretching routine and discovered that daily stretching can help prevent future joint issues.
She is inspired and filled with hope that she can continue with her very active lifestyle without fear of injury, pain and surgery.
I can see relief in her face and feel joy in her energy. It has changed her life not just physically, but mentally as well!
Stretching really does have life-changing benefits!
When our muscles become overused and overly-contracted, this puts stress and strain on our joints; over time, our ligaments and tendons are affected by this tight muscle tissue, often causing pain and issues that lead people to drastic options, like surgery.
I have so many of my students tell me that they just wish they could pick up their grandchildren without feeling pain.
We all want to maintain our independence as we age, but we find ourselves gradually becoming limited in our range of motion.
But through a daily stretching routine, you can return to life’s daily tasks with more ease.
You become more limber instead of rigged. Circulation and blood flow begin to radiate through you body, giving you more energy and, in turn, less mental stress and pain.
And even better, you reduce your chance of injury so you can remain active and enjoying life to its fullest!
It is a great honor for me to be able to guide, inform and inspire my students through the life-changing benefits of Assisted Stretching.
When we take time to stretch, we are making a BIG INVESTMENT in our body’s health, mobility, and independence as we age.
Trust me, it is time well invested!
